To win this amazing basket of goodies all you have to do is like and share our Facebook page - ‘Fidget Kids’. And/or fill out a competition sheet in store.
Background behind this competition: We decided to do something a bit different as I am taking all 4 of my kids to the Pink ‘Beautiful Trauma’ concert on the 27th July. I am a huge Pink fan and my kids have grown up with her (& with me quite often singing along at the top of my lungs 😊)
And having 2 kids on the spectrum – one who is non-verbal autistic, as many of you will sympathise, as much fun as this will be for all of us, it is also a logistical nightmare. I need to make sure my son has a couple of toys, his iPad & for it to not go flat, I need safety items – which is now covered, food, drinks and social stories. But he is just as excited as everyone else and whilst he has very limited reading and writing skills – he can read Pink as its on his calendar and if I show him any picture of her he will say ‘that PINK!’
So, I decided to share the love, just as I personally think Pink does & create a competition to co-incide with our special trip. A special trip for a special family! 😊
So please join in and share the love by sharing our page to get the word out about our store as the more items that I can sell, the more items I will be able to purchase that will assist our special kids – special toys and items for our special kids! And I want to be able to grow the store to stock so much more that will assist as many families as I can - for example weighted blankets would be able to come off the wish list and into the store.
Competition will be drawn on the 28th July. And to make it extra special I will be purchasing Pink merchandise that will enable my non-verbal autistic son to randomly choose the winner!
A great review video on our 12 sided Fidget Cube. Completely unedited and natural.
A great opening day video. Again a video for kids, by kids....
As promised in our first post, here is the first of a series of videos reviewing our products.
Thankyou to the wonderful kids who helped put the video together and edit it.
Fidget Kids will be opening on Tuesday the 27th February 2018. We are very excited that our dream is coming to fruition and cannot wait to begin helping people find that item that will help to reduce stress and meet more 'special needs' families in Bendigo.
I have set up the toy room and when I have taken our kids there while setting up I haven't been able to get them out of there! I had one of my nieces there over the weekend and when I asked her what she thought & if she had any suggestions for me she said 'no, I think it's perfect the way it is' so whilst I still have a lot of work to do at least I feel confident that Kids will love that room and if needed will give parents that time and space to browse the store while their child is happily occupied. Even my 13 year olds had to be dragged out of there to help me with some of the setting up!
I have had amazing support from anyone I have spoken to about the store, which feels great. I started this as I felt there was a need for it in Bendigo due to our own frustrations but I didn't realise the passion I would gain for it. I'm excited when I talk about the products. We have a lot of general toys as well (which a lot of those are just toys I thought looked fun & are different to what you usually find in stores), but as I either have experience with my own kids or i have done a lot of research, I just get really excited when I talk about the products as I can't wait to open the shop & share them with the families in Bendigo.
The next blog posts we will start focusing on specific items & my sons are going to review the items and do videos for you as I think the best reviews are from Kids for kids.
During our first month we will be having opening sales as well as competitions to win some great prizes, so we look forward to meeting you and helping you find the perfect item for your child.
